Manager Applications Development Full Time Responsible for application development activities for and between all transactional systems at North American Dental Group. Manages the day-to-day functions related to application development and support of the Practice Management System and data warehouse environments. Essential Duties: Responsible for overall system design, coding, testing and maintenance for application programs within our PMS, data warehouse, and business intelligence platforms. Installs and maintains application software, upgrades and patches on PMS and other platform applications. Meets with business associates at all levels to gather business systems requirements. Writes and/or reviews functional and technical specification documents. Develops and follows detailed test plans for system and user acceptance testing. Responsible for maintaining integrity of database information. Works with consultants to develop and implement applications. Prepares weekly status reports on work being performed. Provides off hours support of critical production applications when necessary. Establishes service level agreements with the business and works with IT operations to ensure system availability. Implements and maintains procedures to monitor nightly job schedules and to ensure that failures are escalated and resolved on a timely basis. Manages middleware interface programs and or applications that move data between systems using ETL functions. Ensures that applications are optimized and are fully utilized by the business. Adopts and follows change management procedures related to implementation of application changes within core systems. Maintains and turns over to operations documentation necessary to operate all systems, including execution schedules, job descriptions, and data flow charts. Coordinates system upgrades, patch installation, system outages, and maintenance schedules with vendors, other IT leaders and senior IT personnel. Manages application developers and programmer analysts including hiring and retaining staff; team building; developing job descriptions; maintaining work schedules; performance appraisals; organizing staff for optimum effectiveness; establishing staff training and development programs. Develops and is accountable for the application development portions of the IT budget. Establishes and tracks all requests for system enhancements and reports on project status. Expected to work all scheduled work days, during scheduled hours and report to work on time. Other special projects or responsibilities as assigned.
